Collaborate

What collaboration opportunities are available to me?

In Fordham’s Adult Education & HRD program, we teach critical thinking, not dogma.  As a graduate, you embrace strategies for teaching and learning, not just foundational theory.  You critically think and apply your learning to each real-world and evolving need in your profession.  You evaluate and plan programs and then seek the funding to implement them.  You understand how emerging issues in educational technologies influence professional development and learning options.  You are an agent of transformation in education.

Students and graduates participate with faculty in various professional organizations where the student may co-present at or attend organization conferences.

Fordham's adult education degree program partners with the New York state association of adult education (NYACCE) on an exciting project to extend the reach of adult education resources and publication.

Bringing together practitioners, program directors and universities to explore common practice, research and theory in adult education, community education, continuing education, workforce development, and higher education.

The editors of Perspectives: The New York Journal of Adult Learning invite submissions from adult educators, program directors, graduate students and faculty that address the needs and interests of those involved in educating adults in the specific areas of adult literacy, adult education, community education, continuing education, workforce training and development, and higher education around the world. The ultimate goal is to improve understanding and practice of adult education through careful consideration and reflection of timely research and issues. This peer-reviewed journal is intended to be a source of education articles from around the world that are practical, substantial, and scholarly. Articles may be submitted for consideration in the following areas: refereed articles, book reviews, issues and trends, invited research summaries and best practice. This journal is published twice a year. (The inaugural issue was published in November 2002.)

You are welcome to view this issue online as a COMPLIMENTARY SAMPLE
The journal's co-editors are Dr. Kathleen P. King, professor, and Dr. Barbara Heuer, adjunct professor, Fordham, New York City, NY.
